We collect all wastes from all the vessels transiting Istanbul Strait or waiting within city limits, in line with international. We recycle the collected waste and regain to economy and eliminate the rest safely.

İSTAÇ, as member of EUROSHORE, association of port reception facility providers in Europe, started waste collection from the vessels in 2005. Over 2.110.000 m³ waste has been collected since 2005, from around 95.000 vessels used Istanbul Strait and harbors; thus contributed for protection of Istanbul Strait.
Furthermore; At Haydarpaşa Port Reception Facility, oil and oil-derived wastes from the vessels are recycled and become reusable. In this manner, economy is contributed along with keeping environment pollution in Istanbul Strait under control. In the site with the capacity of 110.000 m³ a year waste treatment, oil and oil derived wastes such as bilge, slop oil and oil sludge are treated through chemical processes. By this, 20.000 m3 waste oil is recycled for the economy.
We collect and manage in a controlled manner the wastes originating from the shipboards within the scope of the international agreements. İSTAÇ is a member of Association of Port Reception Facility Providers, EUROSHORE, and follows the latest local and international regulations as well as implementations very closely. As İSTAÇ, we serve 7/24 and thus provide cleaner sea and contribute inheriting cleaner seas for the next generations.

We process for dewatering and treating Marpol 73/78 Annex-I oil and oil-derived wastes in our Haydarpaşa Port Reception Facility and recycle them for the economy. Marpol 73/78 Annex-V garbage and debris are eliminated in Kemerburgaz, Odayeri and Kömürcüoda sanitary landfills safely. As for Marpol 73/78 Annex-IV Sewage, they are collected through water treating system connected to ISKI collector and received by the closest treating site. These are treated by cutting edge technology sites of ISKI and recycled without harming the nature.
